Master Hire upright rammers, also known as a wacker packer or jumping jack are ideal for compacting cohesive soil inside trenches, excavations and footings. These units are available in fuel efficient 2 stroke, 4 stroke or diesel versions. Our upright rammers operate by driving a large foot (280 x 335mm) up and down onto the ground up to 700 times per minute. These narrow machines use this high impact force to compact the ground. With a high percussion rate and a heavy impact with each stroke, they offer a deeper compaction depth compared to a vibrating plate compactor.
Trenches and other restricted spaces are the ideal application for our heavy duty ramming compactors and they can be used by landscapers, builders or DIY handypersons. All our upright rammers are fitted with built in shock absorbers, lifting points and are easy to start and operate. Depending on the make and model, they can weigh between 60-90kg.
