HIRE THIS ITEM
Master Hire’s PTL-3 type 1 portable traffic lights are remotely operated, keeping traffic controllers off the road, out of harm’s way. The units can be controlled via one hand controller and one traffic controller, making them very easy to use. These portable traffic lights comply with Queensland Transport & Main Roads specifications and offer improved safety over the traditional Stop/Go signs. Made in Australia, the PTL-3 type 1 traffic light is lightweight and very easy to set up and move by one person. The unit is mounted on a sturdy foldable stand able to be positioned off the road, safely away from traffic.
Applications
These units can be used in various modes to suit different applications.
Single – When the remote is paired with only one light head, the operation mode is always single unit mode and the remote controller only operates this single light head.
Shuttle – This is the most common operation mode when there is a single lane of traffic at a works site with traffic travelling in alternate directions while works are proceeding in the other lane. The traffic controller sets up one traffic light unit at each end of the job site and is then able to operate the red and green lights. For safety reasons, only one light can displayed green at any one time.
Gating or Plant Crossing – This application is used when there is a works site where traffic can travel in both directions and at times when all traffic is required to stop (for example when a piece of plant needs to cross the road). In this mode of operation, each unit displays both green lights simultaneously and then both red lights to the approaching traffic when required.
Features
Each portable traffic light unit comes complete with an external battery and remote control. The internal battery can be fully charged in less than 5 hours. The external battery will provide up to 50 hours of run time. The can be controlled remotely by a radio controller which has a sunlight-readable screen so you can work in direct sunlight.
